AIPMT 2014

All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is now back for 2014.
CBSE  announced on Tuesday that the test will be held on 4th
May 2014.

Nature and syllabus of AIPMT 2014 will be same as that of
NEET 2013 There will be just a single paper with 180 objective
type questions from physics, chemistry, botany and zoology.

As usual AIPMT-2014 will be conducted only for the 15%
national quota in government medical/dental colleges all over
India (except Andhra Pradesh and Jammu-Kashmir).

CBSE will hopefully keep same one paper &180 questions nature
of AIPMT in 2015 also.

AIPMT will take place in 2014

As per Hon.Supreme Court's order NEET is
unconstitutional.hence we think that AIPMT
will take place for All India Quota in 2014.

We should start study as per AIPMT pattern.
We cannot wait for review petition etc.
We must keep our preparation on
for AIPMT 2014

How To Prepare For NEET 2014 & NEET 2015

Nature Of Syllabus : Biology

In biology there are only 10 units but these 10 units include
many subunits.5 units are in 11th std and 5 units in 12th std.
11th std Units
1.Diversity in living world
2.Structural organisation in animals and plants
3.Cell structure and fuctions
4.Plant physiology
5.Human physiology
12th Std Units
1.Reproduction
2.Genetics and evolution
3.Biology and human welfare
4.Biotechnology and its applications
5.Ecology and environment

We can see there is perfect division of units according to there
nature. For example - classification, physiology is in 11th and
reproduction,genetics is 12th.

Though there are only 10 units in NEET syllabus, these units include many subunits,
like - plant nutrition, respiration.photosynthesis, plant growth etc
are in plant physiology. You can see that these are studied as separate
units in state board syllabus.

You need to study according to this perfectly bunched way for more
effective preparation of NEET.Because many questions in NEET will
asked by interlinking multiple concepts.

..........In next posts,we will discuss some important
                          concepts for NEET.

How To Prepare For NEET - 2014 and NEET -2015

Nature Of Syllabus : Chemistry

In NEET syllabus there are nearly 30 units of chemistry in which
14 are placed in 11th std and 16 are placed in 12th std.
Some students if know, can understand that nearly 10 units are
related to physical chemistry ,10 are from organic chemistry and 10 \
are from inorganic chemistry .

Units in 11th std.
1.Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry 2.Structure of Atom
3. Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties
4.Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure\
5.States of Matter: Gases and Liquids 6.Thermodynamics
7.Equilibrium  8.Redox Reactions   9.Hydrogen
10.s-Block Element (Alkali and Alkaline earth metals)
11.Some p-Block Elements
12.Organic Chemistry- Some Basic Principles and Techniques
13.Hydrocarbons  14.Environmental Chemistry

In 11 std.topics there are some basic concepts are covered.
I am sure that there will be questions on Thermodynamics,\
Redox reactions,Hydrogen Peroxide and Environmental chemistry
in NEET 2013 as well in NEET 2014

In  state syllabus you may find Alkane,Alkene and Alkynes are \
separately studied but here in NEET these are under Hydrocarbons.

Units of 12th std.
1. Solid State  2. Solutions 3. Electrochemistry  4.Chemical Kinetics
5.Surface Chemistry6. General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements
7.p- Block Elements d and f Block Elements  8.Coordination Compounds

11.Aldehydes,Ketones and Carboxylic Acids
12.Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen
13.Biomolecules 14.Polymers 15.Chemistry in Everyday Life

In 12th ,topics like aldehydes ,ketones, nitrogen containing compounds
will be important as far as NEET exam is concerned.
There will be at least one question on Polymer and Biomolecules.
Isomerism in coordination compounds will also be asked.

How to Prepare For NEET 2014

Nature of Syllabus

In NEET,there are 59 units in all three subjects.
Today we will see nature of Physics syllabus
In 11th std- CBSE given 10 units like
1.Physical world and measurement 2.Kinematics
3.Laws of motion 4.Work,Energy,Power
5.Motion of system of Particles & Rigid Body
6.Gravitation 7.Properties of bulk matter
8.Thermodynamics
9.Behaviour of perfect Gas&kinetic Theory
10.Oscillations &waves
In 12th Std- There are 9 units like
1.Electrostatics 2.Current &electricity
3.Magnetic effects of current7Magnetism
4.Electromagnetic Induction
5.Electromagnetic waves
6.Optics  7.Dual nature of Matter
8.Atoms & nuclei 9. Electronic Devices
 * In NEET syllabus Thermodynamics is in both
Physics as well as in Chemistry while Nuclear
part is in Physics here .Hence questions related
to fission, fusion, half life of radioactive nucleus
will be asked in Physics not in Chemistry.
In some state board syllabus nuclear fission, fusion
  etc.may be in chemistry.

You can see here in NEET syllabus that there is
perfect division of units. Basic Physical entities
like Force,Motion,work,properties of bulk matter
are covered in 11th and Electrostatics,Current,
Magnetism,Optics etc.covered in 12th.

But this is not the case in many of the state
board syllabi..Some states are now thinking
to tune their syllabus with NEET But it will take
2-3 years. For instant students should aware of
the difference between their state board syllabus and
NEET syllabus. We will see some examples.

Maharashtra State Syllabus Vs NEET Syllabus
In Maharashtra syllabus, the topics like Laws of
Motion,Properties Of bulk Matter,Electrostatics,
Current electricity,Its magnetic effects, are distributed
both in 11th and 12th std.Student should take care of this
In State syllabus Topics like Electromagnetic waves,
Optics are in 11th instead of 12th while Motion of particles,
Gravitation are in 12th instead of 11th.

Student should take care of all these things while
 preparing for NEET 2014

*Continued....we will discuss about such difference
                       wrt other subjects.

How to Prepare for NEET 2014

Nature of syllabus

As per Educational Stucture in India, there are many state
boards and they are having their own stucture of syllabus
for 11th and 12th.Hence CBSE constructed its own syllabus
for NEET with some selective topics .

There are nearly 59 Units in NEET syllabus. These are
divided in 11th and 12th level. But  not exactly as per
state boards .Hence it necessary to get familiar with this
new structure of syllabus as early as possible.Hence if
you want to get success in NEET it is necessary to start
study according to this NEET syllabus pattern. You may
have to study many topics on your own without waiting
for coaching class or college to teach those topics.

*Continued....We will discuss Nature of Syllabus-
                              -subject wise in next posts

How To Prepare For NEET 2014

Importance of Self Study In NEET Preparation

Many  students forget 11th std topics after 11th exam.
But CBSE given equal importance to 11th std topics.
So it is necessary to revise those topics .Hence self study
is important .You need to revise 11th std topics along with
12th std topics

4.Keep marking important topics and and important
  concepts while revising the topics.
5.You also need to understand nature of questions .
As nature of NEET Exam is different nature of
questions will also be different than traditional exams.
Nature of questions  is also depend upon nature of subject.
For example- In physics stress will be on calculate different
  quantities and interdependence of quantities.
In Chemistry - stress will be on chemical reactions and reaction
  conditions.
In Bio - stress will be on different biological processes etc.
So you need to mark these things during your revision
Straight forward revisions without any direction may be less
useful than well directed revisions .For well directed revisions
you need to take help of Test Papers to get direction in self study.

How To Prepare For NEET 2014

Importance of self study & practice

 in Preparation of NEET 2014

Though coaching class is an advantage but there is
no other option for Self Study. You can not expect success
merely through coaching.

Self Study and extra practice is also necessary to
get success in NEET.

Self Study increase your thinking ability .Self study
and Solving Test Papers frequently and if possible regularly
improve your intellectual powers, also make you familiar
with question pattern and different possibilities about
questions, different short-cuts to answer etc.

Coaching can help you but can not make you
perfect.Self study is necessary along with coaching.
Even 1or 2hrs daily will give you better results.

Some tricks to be used during Self Study

Following tricks may help students to get maximum
output
1.First read a complete unit.Try to mark important
concepts on which questions can be asked in NEET.
Try to understand those important concepts thoroughly.

2.After some preparation in 20-30 days solve Question
Paper based on NEET Pattern. For first one or two Test
Papers do not mind if you are taking more than 3hrs to solve .
Duration is not important at this stage.Take this as a
practice and part of preparation.

3.Find out your mistakes in that test and find correct
answers from books ,notes etc. This helps to strengthen
your knowledge and give direction for next revision
It also helps to create insight about nature of questions,
important concepts,their interlinking etc.

*continued...other tricks will be in next post

NEET 2014

How to Prepare For NEET 2014

In 2014 there will not be any major changes in NEET Pattern and NEET syllabus.
Students should start preparation of NEET 2014 as per current syllabus and pattern.
Following four things will help in getting success in NEET 2014

I. Understanding The Concepts
Before to start preparation of  NEET 2014 ,students should keep in
mind that understanding of concepts is important for better performance
in NEET. There will be mixing of concepts in many questions.
So understanding of concepts is necessary.
II. Multiple Revisions
For better performance in NEET 2014 multiple revisions are necessary .
As per scientific studies all of us forget most of the part in a month or two
if not revised Multiple revisions will help you remember even a minute things.
It will in turn help to answer hard questions.
III.Get Familiar with Question Pattern
As NEET  is objective type exam , questions will be of different types than
traditional exam.Marking scheme for NEET is +4 & -1 .So question will
also be according to weightage of +4 It will be better to get familiar with possible
types of questions which can be asked in NEET. Solving Test Papers will help
     in this regard.
IV.Continuous Practice
In NEET you have to solve 180 questions in just 3hrs.i.e.one question in
1 minute. In this 1 minute you have to read ,understand and mark your answer
in OMR sheet .Your hand and brain must be habitual with this speed.
So it necessary to have a continuous practice for this .Solving question papers
regularly at least once in a month will help you get that speed and technique.
